Does Pier Cleaners charge a delivery or membership fee?

No. You will pay the Pier Cleaner listed prices and nothing more.

Does Pier Cleaners use Perc in the dry cleaning process?

No. Pier Cleaners uses an environmentally friendlier cleaning process that leaves your clothes without that "dry cleaning" smell. We also offer wet cleaning services.

How do I tell Pier Cleaners about a special request regarding/issue with my garment?

If you are a delivery customer simply leave a detailed note in your bag identifying the specific garments, along with your specific cleaning instructions. If you are an in-store customer explain to the counter person your instructions/question and the counter person will provide the dry cleaner with specific instructions for your garment.

What do I do if I have a problem with my order after I get my clothes back?

Contact a Pier cleaners customer care representative at, call 401-789-2333, or come just come into the store and we will do our best to help!

What are the store hours of Pier Cleaners?

Pier Cleaners is open Monday-Friday 7am-6pm and Saturdays from 8am-3:30pm. Check on the About Us page for store specific hours.

What is a Converta Bag and how can I buy one?

The Converta Bag is a 25" x 54" reusable garment bag. This bag converts from a laundry bag into a garment bag very simply; just loosen the drawstring and allow the bag to fully open to cover your garments. This bag is used rather than using plastic bags; which are a petroleum product and generally thrown away after use. By using these bags; not only do your garments come home clean, they reduce the amount of plastic used.

You can get a converta bag by simply going to any of our Pier Cleaners locations.

How do I set up a charge account?

A Charge account can be created by filling out the charge account authorization found both on this website and at any of our locations. Once you have completed the authorization for the account you will be billed monthly to the card you have authorized.

Do I have to be home for the driver to pick up & deliver?

No, thats the beauty of our service! You simply leave the outgoing dirty dry cleaning in your designated area and the driver will pick up up and return your incoming clean order in that same location.

Does Pier Cleaners recycle hangers?

Yes! As part of being a green company we try to reduce the amount of waste we create. Customers are welcome to dropped their used hangers off; hangers must be free of rust and not mis-shaped in any way.

According to the Hanger Network, every year around 3.5 billion wire hangers end up in U.S. landfills; the equivalent of a whopping 60,000 cars!

How does storage of seasonal clothing work?

Simply remove your seasonal items from your closet and bring them into any of our locations. We will clean, press, and store them for you. You will have to prepay at drop-off for the dry cleaning portion of this service. Just give us a call to inform us when you would like your clothing ready and available for you!

Can I have my shirts folded?

Yes, shirts can either be on hangers or folded and boxed. When you drop off your shirts just be sure to tell the counter person you would like your shirts folded. If you're a delivery customer just checked the boxed shirts portion of the instructions card.

Does dry cleaning shorten the life of a garment?

Frequent cleaning actually prolongs the life of a garment. Ground-in dirt and soil act as an abrasive causing rapid wear of fibers.

Should I store my clean garments in the plastic they are returned in?

No. The bags are provided to protect the garment until you get home. Plastic does not breathe and can trap in moisture, which desposits into your garments. An ideal place to store clothing should be cool, dry, and well-ventilated. Never store clothes in a basement or attic.

Why can the cleaners not remove all stains?

The nature of the stain, age of the stain, color of fabric, and construction of the fabric sometimes make stains impossible to remove without damage to the garment.

Should I use hairspray to remove ballpoint ink stains?

You can, however, you may be creating another problem by doing so. The hairspray can remove ballpoint ink; but the hairspray contains alocohol and oils which can cause color damage (especially on silk).

What is Perc.?

Perchloroethylene (PERC), a potential human carcinogen, is the most commonly used dry cleaning solvent. Symptoms associated with exposure include: depression of the central nervous system; damage to the liver and kidneys; impaired memory; confusion; dizziness; headache; drowsiness; and eye, nose, and throat irritation. Repeated dermal exposure may result in dermatitis. Perc. is used in about 85% of dry cleaners nationwide.
